Key Functions
Policy Formulation
Formulate and review policies, laws and regulations governing the energy and mineral sectors.
Sector Coordination
Coordinate the activities of all agencies and institutions under the Ministry.
Resource Management
Manage the sustainable exploitation and utilization of Uganda's energy and mineral resources.
Investment Promotion
Attract investment in the energy and mineral sectors through an enabling regulatory environment.
International Relations
Represent Uganda in regional and international energy and mineral development forums.
Research & Development
Promote research, technology development and innovation in the energy and mineral sectors.
Capacity Building
Build capacity within the Ministry and sector for effective policy implementation.
